Editorial report
What makes this worth your time.
Garosugil — literally "tree-lined street" — is the eight-hundred-meter stretch of Sinsa-dong between Sinsa Station and the southern end of Dosan Park that functions as Seoul's most concentrated designer-retail corridor. Unlike Myeongdong (which skews tourist-mass-market) or Hongdae (which skews indie-youth), Garosugil occupies the specific price-and-taste segment where Korean designer labels like Low Classic, Andersson Bell, Rejina Pyo, and Wooyoungmi sit alongside global flagships — Maison Margiela, Acne Studios, Aesop, and Diptyque — without either side feeling out of place. The street's structure is deliberately walkable: the main road hosts the flagship retail layer, while the perpendicular "sero-su-gil" back alleys contain smaller concept stores, independent jewelry designers, and specialty coffee that reward exploration. For fashion-oriented visitors, the practical advantage is a two-hour walkable circuit that surfaces both established Korean design and the emerging labels that have not yet reached international wholesale.
Detailed guide
WALKING ROUTE: Start at Sinsa Station Exit 8, walk south on Garosu-gil. KEY STOPS: Low Classic Flagship — Minimalist Korean womenswear that has gained a serious Net-a-Porter following. Clean lines, excellent tailoring, ₩200,000-500,000 range.
Andersson Bell — The Korean brand most likely to be the next global breakout. Deconstructed denim and bold layering. Wooyoungmi — Korea's first menswear brand to show at Paris Fashion Week.
Flagship store here offers the full collection including Korea-exclusives. TAMBURINS — Gentle Monster's fragrance and hand care brand. The store design alone is worth the visit.
Aesop Garosugil — The Australian skincare brand's Korean flagship, designed by Korean architect Yun Yeo-jun. SERO-SU-GIL (BACK ALLEYS): Turn into any of the perpendicular lanes east of the main street. You'll find: Independent jewelry designers (Moon J, Numbering), Vintage consignment stores, Specialty coffee (Fritz, Center Coffee, Anthracite nearby).
SEASONAL TIP: Visit during Seoul Fashion Week (March and October) when designers use Garosugil showrooms for buyer appointments and pop-ups.
