Editorial report
Gentle Monster is the only Korean eyewear brand that has achieved genuine global luxury positioning — worn by Blackpink's Jennie, BTS, and a rotating cast of fashion-week front-row regulars — and Haus Dosan in Apgujeong is the physical expression of that ambition. The building is a five-story flagship (plus B1) that reads as an art installation happening to sell sunglasses and cosmetics: each floor is redesigned with kinetic sculptures, in-house robotics, and spatial design that would be at home in a Frieze exhibition. Nudake, the brand's dessert concept, anchors B1; Tamburins, Gentle Monster's sister artisan beauty brand, occupies the 4th floor. For a visitor, this is not a store visit — it is a cultural experience that takes forty-five minutes to properly absorb, and it is free. The eyewear itself is priced between ₩250,000 and ₩600,000, roughly twenty to thirty percent below international retail for the same frames. Opening hours 11:00–21:00 daily.
Detailed guide
WHAT TO EXPECT: Haus Dosan is a five-story flagship (plus basement) on Apgujeong-ro 46-gil — a 10–12 minute walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station (Suin-Bundang Line) Exit 5, or roughly the same from Apgujeong Station (Line 3) Exit 3. The exterior is a concrete monolith intentionally devoid of signage — the brand believes the space should communicate through architecture, not logos. **B1 — Nudake**: the dessert café concept.
Signature cakes and croissants are designed as edible art pieces; expect a 15–20 minute wait on weekends. **1F — Entrance & central installation**: a multi-floor 3D installation (historically designed in collaboration with Frederik Heyman) runs through the core of the building. **2F — Gentle Monster optical glasses**: minimalist concept anchored by Jonas Lindstroem's "TRUTH OR DARE" mixed-media installation.
**3F — Gentle Monster sunglasses**, featuring THE PROBE, a six-legged robot developed in-house by Gentle Monster's Robotics Lab. **4F — Tamburins flagship**, the sister artisan cosmetics and fragrance brand. Opening hours 11:00–21:00 daily.
